Creating a Bucket

To create a new Bucket on your Cloud Console, please open your project and do the following:

1. Go to Object Storage on the left menu bar

   

2. Select Create Bucket

   

3. Create your Bucket

   ○ Location
   This is where your Bucket will be located. For smaller projects, you can choose any location you prefer. For bigger projects we recommend choosing the closest location.

   ○ Name/URL
   This will be the name of your Bucket. Please note that the name needs to be unique. This means that two different Buckets cannot share the same name, regardless of their location. This rule applies Hetzner-wide, across all locations.

   ○ Visibility
   You can choose between "private" and "public".

   • Private: Everyone needs S3 keys to access your Bucket.
   • Public: You don't need S3 keys for read permissions (e.g. read or download data). You still need S3 keys for write permissions (e.g. add or delete data).

If you are happy with your settings, click on Create & Buy now to create the new Bucket.
