In the account administration section of konsoleH, you can create new accounts on your server. You can choose to automatically register the domain for that account.

New domain

To create a new domain on your server, follow these steps:

  1. First, select what you want to happen with the new domain:

    • I want to register a new domain. Select this option if you wish to register a new free domain.

I want to transfer my existing domain to Hetzner Online GmbH (Transfer). Select this option if you wish to transfer an existing domain to us. After you have sent us the relevant transfer form (ChProv), we will carry out the transfer for you.

Attention: You can only transfer a domain to us if it already belongs to you.

I want an account; the domain will remain with the previous provider. Select this option if you wish to keep your domain registered with your previous provider. In this case, you will only receive the webspace from us. Important note: You will have to make arrangements with your domain registrar so that the domain points to our webspace.

  2. Enter the desired domain name (without www) and select the domain ending (TLD).

  3. The account's login and password are automatically generated. You can change these if you wish.

  4. Select the desired account type and click on 'Next'.

  5. In addition, if you have selected the option 'Transfer' or 'Account only', you can indicate whether a DNS entry should be created for the domain.

Then you will see some additional steps. Please follow those carefully. Complete the order process by accepting our terms and conditions.

New addon domain

Addon domains are additional domains on an account which share disk space with the corresponding main account.

To create an addon domain, proceed as you would when creating a new account. Instead of the account type, select the main account for the addon domain.

Switch account type

You can switch an account type yourself; you don't need to contact our support team do to this. Find and select the correct account on the list, click on 'Next', and then choose the new account type.

If you wish to convert accounts into addon domains or vice versa, please write a support request via konsoleH.

Delete an account

When you delete an account, it will delete all the content for the account, including mailboxes and DNS entries. (There is an exception with addon domains; the website content for these is not deleted).

If you want to continue to use the domain of a deleted account, please contact Support.

SSH

With SSH, you give your users the opportunity to use a command line to work on your account. The access details are the same as for FTP access. Please use port 222.

To permit/prohibit access via SSH for individual accounts, select an account from the list and click on 'Next'.

DNS administration

With DNS administration, you can change the DNS entries for your accounts. For more detailed information, please use the help function within the DNS administration section.

Account maintenance

You can define server-wide maintenance rules that are valid for these areas:

  • Spam (mail) - the folder for spam mails if the spam filter is active
  • Trash (mail) - the trash folder for mailboxes
  • Weblogs - the www log files in the www_logs folder

Note: Under "Administration; Account maintenance", you can define maintenance rules that apply to all of your servers and accounts. You can also define maintenance rules individually for each account under "Settings; Account maintenance".

Login page

You can create a customized login page that will appear when you call your server name. This allows you to set a custom design for the login screen.

Click on "Example" to get a finished login mask. Underneath that, there are other parts of the login template that you can arrange on the login page as you wish. Important note: All the parts in the template must appear exactly once.
