Security of your data on hosting and managed servers
Hetzner provides the following secure connections:

Administration interface: Access to the administration interface via the HTTPS protocol, protected by SSL encryption.

Webmail access via https://webmail.your-server.de: Access to the webmailbox protected by SSL encryption via the HTTPS protocol.

POP3, IMAP and SMTP access via mail.your-server.de: Access to POP3, IMAP and SMTP protected by SSL encryption. To do this, enter mail.your-server.de as the address in the host name field of your email programme. Please select TLS as the protocol. The remaining login details will be provided in the completion notification.

FTP access via FTPS/SFTP: Account access for transferring your data via FTPS/SFTP. This applies to both uploads and downloads. Enter the server name wwwXXX.your-server.de or dediXXX.your-server.de as the hostname. You will find the exact server name in the account completion notification.

SSH (Managed Server or web hosting packages with this feature): Protocol for encrypted remote maintenance of servers/computers (console). The SSH port to be used is 222.

SSL certificate: We can offer SSL certificates as an add-on for the secure transmission of website data via https://. Upon ordering, such certificates are installed directly onto the customer’s account by Hetzner, and the websites can be accessed in the browser via https://.
