Using the account management section on konsoleH, you can create new accounts, order additional products and manage existing hosting plans and domains.
Depending on the product, you can, amongst other things:
- create new web hosting accounts
- register or transfer domains
- add add-on domains
- change the account type
- delete accounts
- enable or disable SSH
- Manage DNS entries
Start a new order
Via New Order, you can order a new Managed Server, a web hosting account, a single domain or other supported products.
The steps displayed depend on the selected product type.
Step 1: Select product type
First, select the desired product, for example:
- Managed Server
- Web hosting account
- Domain
- other products available on konsoleH
Step 2: Specify domain name
If your order involves a domain, enter the desired domain name without www and select the appropriate domain extension.
Optionally, you can specify your own nameservers. In this case, ensure that the domain is already correctly configured on these nameservers.
Step 3: Select type of domain usage
When ordering a web hosting account or a domain, you then select how the domain should be handled.
Register a new domain
Select this option if you wish to register a new, available domain.
Transfer an existing domain to Hetzner
Select this option if the domain already exists and is to be transferred to Hetzner.
A transfer is only possible if you are the domain owner or are acting on behalf of the domain owner.
During the ordering process, you confirm accordingly:
I hereby confirm that I am the domain owner or am acting on behalf of the domain owner. I can provide proof of this at any time.
Order the account only; domain remains with the current provider
Select this option if you only wish to use the webspace at Hetzner and the domain remains registered with another provider.
In this case, you must ensure yourself with your domain provider that the domain points to your webspace at Hetzner. This usually requires the appropriate DNS settings.
Step 4: Enter contact details for the domain
If necessary, enter the contact details for the domain owner and the administrative contact.
Step 5: Select payment method
Select your preferred payment method for your order.
Step 6: Review and complete your order
Check all details carefully, accept the Terms and Conditions, and complete the order.
Create a new account on a Managed Server
If you wish to create another account on a Managed Server, this is also done via Account Management. Depending on the option selected, you can register a new domain at the same time or link an existing domain to the new account.
You will usually need to provide the following:
- Domain name
- Desired domain extension
- Desired account type
- Optional DNS settings for transfer or external domain use
Username and password are usually suggested automatically. You can adjust these values if necessary.
Create an add-on domain
Add-on domains are additional domains that share the storage space of an existing main account. They are suitable if you wish to use multiple domains within an existing web hosting account.
When creating an add-on domain, you select:
- the desired additional domain
- the main account to which the domain is to be assigned
- optionally, a separate home directory
This allows you to flexibly structure multiple domains within a single web hosting account.
Change account type
You can change the type of an existing account on konsoleH, for example to a different web hosting plan or to an add-on domain.
To do this, proceed as follows:
- Log in to konsoleH.
- Select the relevant hosting or domain.
- Open the Contract section.
- Click on Change account type.
- Select the desired target type.
- Follow the further prompts.
If you are switching to an add-on domain, you must also select the main account. If you wish to convert hosting plans into add-on domains or add-on domains into standalone hosting plans and the process cannot be carried out directly on konsoleH, please contact Support.
Switching the web hosting plan
If you wish to upgrade or downgrade your web hosting plan, select the relevant web hosting plan on konsoleH.
Then click on the left on Account type. In the next dialogue, select the desired target plan and confirm the change.
Your existing data will be retained.
Can I change the domain of my webhosting?
No, that is not possible. You would have to order a new webhosting or add the domain as an addon-domain.
Up- or downgrading your managed server
If you wish to change the configuration of a managed server, this is not done in the same way as for web hosting plans. Please refer to the information in the article on the Hardware Exchange Service.
Deleting an account
When you delete an account, all associated content is usually removed. This includes, in particular:
- Website content
- Mailboxes
- DNS entries
Add-on domains are an exception. In this case, the website content of the main account is not deleted.
Before deleting, check carefully whether you still need to back up any data or wish to continue using the domain. If the associated domain is to remain, please contact Support.
DNS Management
You can use DNS Management to change the DNS entries for your domains and accounts. You can find the DNS settings for your hosting in the Hetzner Console within your project, under the DNS menu item.
There, for example, you can adjust entries for web services, email or other services. As the available settings vary depending on usage, you can find further information in the DNS Administration.
Custom login page for managed servers
For managed servers, you can set up a custom login page that appears when the server name is accessed.
This allows you to customise the appearance of the login screen to suit your requirements. on konsoleH, an example is also available for this purpose, which you can use as a basis.
Ensure that all intended components of the login page are used exactly once in the form.
