You can synchronise your calendar, contacts and, depending on your client, your mailbox with the webmail system. The following protocols are available for this purpose:
- CalDAV for calendars
- CardDAV for contacts
- ActiveSync for calendars, contacts and mailboxes
- SyncML
We recommend CalDAV and CardDAV, provided your client supports these protocols.
Using CalDAV and CardDAV
To synchronise via CalDAV or CardDAV, you will need the relevant subscription address for your calendar or address book.
You can find this address in Webmail under the properties of the relevant calendar or address book. To do this, click the pencil icon next to the name.
To log in, use:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Username | Your email address |
| Password | Your email password |
Using Outlook with CalDAV and CardDAV
Microsoft Outlook does not natively support CalDAV and CardDAV. You can use the free add-on Outlook CalDav Synchronizer, for example.
Using CalDAV with iOS
You can add your calendar to your iPhone or iPad via the iOS settings.
To do this, go to:
Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add CalDAV AccountThen use the following details:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Server | Full CalDAV subscription address |
| Username | Your email address |
| Password | Your email password |
You can easily add the address book via CardDAV in the menu:
Settings → Contacts → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add CardDAV Account| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Server | Full CardDAV subscription address |
| Username | Your email address |
| Password | Your email password |
Using ActiveSync
With ActiveSync, you can synchronise calendars, contacts and, depending on the client, your mailbox.
Before you set it up for the first time in the email client, log in to webmail once using the email account’s login details. This step helps you avoid problems when you set up ActiveSync later.
Use the following server details in the client:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Server | https://webmail.your-server.com |
| Username | Your email address |
| Password | Your email password |
Notifications for calendar appointments
By default, you will receive a notification 15 minutes before an appointment begins:
- by email
- as a text notification in webmail, if you are logged in there at that time
If you would also like SMS notifications, you can activate these in konsoleH for your email account. This incurs additional costs.
The following information applies to SMS notifications:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Sender address for notification emails | reminder-noreply@mail.your-server.com |
| Subject | Title of the appointment |
Select calendars for synchronisation
You can specify which calendars to synchronise.
To do this, open the user settings for calendars in Webmail and go to Synchronisation settings. There you will find a selection field for the calendars.
If your device only supports the synchronisation of a single calendar, you can disable the option Support separate calendars?. In this case, the system combines all selected calendars into a single calendar.
Synchronising shared calendars
You can also add shared calendars for synchronisation.
If a shared calendar does not appear in the selection, you often lack the necessary permissions. To synchronise via ActiveSync, you need full rights for the relevant calendar.
To do this, the calendar owner must check the following setting in Webmail:
Calendar properties → Share → Advanced permissions settingsThere, the owner must grant you full rights for the calendar. The calendar should then be available for you to select for synchronisation.
