General information for IT space ("cages")

Our cages do not have an included internet uplink. The uplink IT space is always based on individual requirements and/or specific needs. Cages can only get fibre channel uplinks, connections via copper cables are not available for this product.

The service provides a connection with 2 uplinks that terminate in two redundant backbone routers.

Internet upstream with personal BGP Session (redundant)

This option is offered for: colocation racks, cages and via custom solutions for bare metal servers (dedicated). It is available in FSN1-DC2 (Falkenstein), NBG1-DC2 and NBG1-DC4 (Nuremberg) and HEL1-DC1 (Helsinki).
For bare metal servers the location doesn’t matter because a Private Network Interconnect (PNI) connects existing servers/devices with appropriate end points.

A BGP Session requires two /30 transfer subnets.

⚠️ This upstream requires an own ASN and the customer must announce own IPs. Hetzner doesn't offer IPs for this kind of internet upstream.

Price for long distance connections

The price depends on the distance. The connection transfer is done in Hetzner Online racks (via WDM system).
