Introduction

The Network Time Protocol (NTP) is a networking protocol for clock synchronization between computer systems over packet-switched, variable-latency data networks. NTP is designed to mitigate the effects of variable latency by using a hierarchical system of time sources.

At Hetzner, we provide NTP servers that you can use to synchronize the time on your server. This is important for various applications and services that rely on accurate timekeeping.

NTP Servers

Hetzner provides the following NTP servers, which you can use to synchronize the time:

  • ntp1.hetzner.de
  • ntp2.hetzner.com
  • ntp3.hetzner.net

The servers are located in different geographic locations to ensure redundancy and reliability.

Configuration
