Windows In-place-upgrades

Starting with Windows Update KB5078766 and KB5078752 Microsoft now allows inplace upgrades from Windows Server 2019 and Server 2022 to Server 2025.

In-place upgrades through Windows Update are not supported.

Windows Server Licenses are offered through our Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) without Software Assurance. When upgrading, the installed license will be removed as shown in a warning when trying to do the upgrade.

Upgrading the Windows Version is only supported via re-install from Robot.
