It is possible to migrate existing products from one Hetzner customer to another. Please look at the correct type of product below to learn how to transfer the product to other customers.

Dedicated root servers

Please read this article for detailed steps on how to do this.

Storage Boxes (bound to a Hetzner Storage Box)

Please read this article for detailed steps on how to do this.

Storage Boxes not bound to a Hetzner server

The procedure is similar to that for dedicated root servers:

  • Person A = current Storage Box owner
  • Person B = future Storage Box owner
  1. Person A creates a token for the Storage Box on their account. (Look under "Storage Box" on the left hand menu.) -> Select "Storage Box" -> "Storage Box Transfer"(menu tab) -> "Create Token") and copy it.
  2. Person A gives Person B the transfer token.
  3. Person B logs into their Robot account.
  4. Person B goes to "Storage Box". (Look under "Storage Box" on the left hand menu.) -> Select "Storage Box transfer" -> "Start Storage Box transfer" and enters the token.
  5. Person A confirms that they agree to the transfer on Robot. (Go to "Storage Box"->choose the Storage Box -> "Transfer" -> approve the transfer with "ACK".)

Cloud servers:

To transfer a cloud server, follow the steps below using the Cloud Console administration interface:

Person A = current server owner Person B = future server owner

  1. Person B creates a project and invites Person A to it.
  2. Person A moves the server into Person B's project. (From this point on, Person B is the owner of the cloud server).
  3. Person B can then remove Person A from the project.

To create an invitation for a cloud project, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the corresponding project.
  2. Navigate to the menu on the left side of the screen and select the "Security" button.
  3. Select the "Members" tab and click "Add member" to create an invitation.

On this page you will find more information about the roles and their permissions.

Object Storage

It is not currently possible to move Buckets from one project to another. If you need to move data between projects, you will need to create a new Bucket in the target project and copy the objects using tools such as rclone or similar.

Domains on Robot:

You can transfer the domains on your own, without help from the Support Team. Here are the steps: Person A = current domain owner Person B = future domain owner

  1. Person A logs into their Robot account, then clicks on ‘Domains’ and selects the domain they want to transfer.

  2. Person A creates a token for the domain transfer using the ‘Create token’ button. This token is valid for 7 days. Person A gives Person B the transfer token. Person B can then log onto their Robot account and go to ‘Domains; Show domain transfers; Start domain transfer’.

  3. Person B can view the transfer order here on Robot by entering the trasfer token. They will see the name and address of Person A and can check whether the transfer is correct. If Person B agrees to the transfer, they can then start the transfer by giving their approval ("ACK") here on Robot. When Person B does this, Person A will receive an email.

  4. After Person A receives the email, they can view the transfer order that Person B started by selecting the ‘Transfer’ tab their Robot account. Person A can then see the name and address of Person B. This allows Person A to check whether the request actually comes from the right person. To actually complete the transfer, Person A must explicitly agree to the transfer. They should make sure to change the setting they see to "Approval (ACK).

  5. Person B will get an email. And the transfer is completed.

Important note: Any existing data processing agreement is NOT included in the transfer. Person B may need to create a data processing agreement (DPA) of their own.

If you have any questions, write a support request via Robot.

Products on konsoleH

If all of the data for the transfer will remain the same because you have more than one account on konsoleH (and the names on the accounds and domain data are the same), then you can do the transfer by writing two support tickets on konsoleH. Sender account = account that already has the product Receiving account = account that will receive the transfered product

  1. In this situation, first log onto the Sender account and create a support request from the Sender account with the product information and the customer number for the Receiver account, and state clearly that you want to transfer the product.
  2. Then log onto the Receiver account and create a second support request. Confirm that you want the transferred product to go to this account. Include the ticket number for the first support ticket.

However, if the data for the accounts is different, you will need to fill out this form and send it to us via a support request on konsoleH.

Web hosting packages

For the internal transfer of your web hosting packages, please complete this form and send it to us via a support request on konsoleH.

Managed servers

For the internal transfer of your managed servers, please complete this form and send it to us via a support request on konsoleH.

Managed domains

For the internal transfer of your managed domains, please complete this form and send it to us via a support request on konsoleH.

Storage Shares

For the internal transfer of your Storage Share, please complete this form and send it to us via a support request on konsoleH.

vSwitch

It is unfortunately not possible to transfer a vSwitch. You must remove the servers from the vSwitch. In the other account, create a new vSwitch, then transfer the servers, and then reassign the servers to the new vSwitch.

Rackspot

  • Person A = current rackspot owner
  • Person B = future rackspot owner

You can either use the transfer form https://cdn.hetzner.com/assets/Uploads/Uebertragung-en.pdf to start the trasfer process or write a support request using your customer account on Robot. Using a support ticket on Robot: Person A creates a support ticket on Robot to transfer the rackspot. Person B must also create a support request on Robot and clearly agree to the rackspot transfer.
