This page lists the possible configurations for our DX (DELL) server models. This article does not include prices for all possible options. You can find the standard configuration of the individual server models here.
→You can find the add-on price list in a separate article: Price list for add-ons & options
Guaranteed minimum configuration
For each DX model, there is a basic or minimum configuration that we guarantee. This typically includes:
- Data storage: At least one SSD (NVMe or SATA) or HDD has to be added since they don't have drives by default yet.
- RAM: typically at least 64 GB (depending on the model)
- Network connection: 1 Gbit standard connection
- Network & IP: 2x Single IPv4 (1x HOST, 1x iDRAC) + 1x /64 IPv6 subnet
- Remote management system: iDRAC
- System access: Full root rights, rescue system, VNC installation, etc.

Expandable hardware options
Below you will find an overview of possible hardware expansions/add-ons for DX servers (prices listed separately in the price list):
Network cards & uplinks
- Dual 1 Gbit NIC
- Dual 10 Gbit / 25 Gbit NIC
- LAN connections
- Switches
- 10 Gbit uplink (optional add-on, traffic limits above 20 TB apply when used)
Other add-ons
- USB stick 16 GB / 64 GB
- Additional IPv4 address or IPv4/IPv6 subnets
Additional notes & technical aspects
General:
- All configuration options depend on the availability of hardware components.
- Not all combinations are necessarily possible; some models have tighter limits.
- Customers can request upgrades (drives, RAM, NIC) by writing a support request using their account on Robot.
- In the event of disk errors or software RAID configuration issues, the usual Hetzner procedures apply. See these other sections for more information:
- Scroll to "RAID" & "Troubleshooting": https://docs.hetzner.com/robot/dedicated-server
- You as the customer are responsible for all normal system administration tasks (software, monitoring, RAID configuration, backups, security, etc.)
DX-specific:
- If you want a "mixed" configurations, you must first write a support request about it via your Robot account.
- The usable backplane or board layout determines how many NVMes, SATAs, and HDDs can be part of the configuration.
