Additional information & technical aspects

General:

  • All configuration options depend on the availability of hardware components.
  • Not all combinations are necessarily possible; some models have tighter limits.
  • Customers can request upgrades (drives, RAM, NIC) by writing a support request using their account on Robot.
  • In the event of disk errors or software RAID configuration issues, the usual Hetzner procedures apply. See these other sections for more information:
  • You as the customer are responsible for all normal system administration tasks (software, monitoring, RAID configuration, backups, security, etc.)

SX-specific:

  • SX servers support a variety of configurations of SATA HDDs, SATA SSDs, and NVMe data center SSDs.
  • The actual drive configurations that are available depend on the respective chassis (4-bay, 10-bay, 14-bay, 15-bay).
  • RAM upgrades are only possible on some SX models; many systems were shipped with maximum amount of possible RAM.
