This page lists the possible configurations for our SX server models. This article does not include prices for all possible options. You can find the standard configuration of the individual server models here.
→ You can find the add-on price list in a separate article: Price list for add-ons & options
Guaranteed minimum configuration
For each server model, there is a basic or minimum configuration that we guarantee. This typically includes:
- Data storage: at least one SSD (NVMe or SATA) or HDD
- Network connection: 1 Gbit standard connection
- Network & IP: 1 /64 IPv6 subnet
- System access: Full root rights, rescue system, VNC installation, etc.
Information on current SX server types
SX server types are configured with fixed hardware, varying the number of drives and RAM capacity.
You cannot order additional hardware; instead, you must upgrade to a different server model to obtain more drives or RAM.
You can find an overview of the current types and their configurations here: SX server types
You can still order network cards, LAN ports, uplinks, and other add-ons for all current server types.

Additional information & technical aspects
General:
- All configuration options depend on the availability of hardware components.
- Not all combinations are necessarily possible; some models have tighter limits.
- Customers can request upgrades (drives, RAM, NIC) by writing a support request using their account on Robot.
- In the event of disk errors or software RAID configuration issues, the usual Hetzner procedures apply. See these other sections for more information:
- Scroll to "RAID" & "Troubleshooting": https://docs.hetzner.com/robot/dedicated-server
- You as the customer are responsible for all normal system administration tasks (software, monitoring, RAID configuration, backups, security, etc.)
SX-specific:
- SX servers support a variety of configurations of SATA HDDs, SATA SSDs, and NVMe data center SSDs.
- The actual drive configurations that are available depend on the respective chassis (4-bay, 10-bay, 14-bay, 15-bay).
- RAM upgrades are only possible on some SX models; many systems were shipped with maximum amount of possible RAM.
