- In our data centers, we have a number of different types of rackspots for different dedicated servers models, which can meet a wide ray of demands.
- The rackspots differ from each other based on the dedicated server models, their form factos, the servers’ performance, and also the network specifications for the connection.
- Racksports make it possible for you to expand your dedicated server setup so that you can have additional internal (special) cabling between your dedicated servers if you need it.
How can I make a rackspot reservation?
When you make a new order for a dedicated server, you can write a comment in the comment field during the ordering process. If you already have a server, or if you want to reserve a spot for the future, you can write a support request using your account on Robot. Please confirm that you will accept the monthly price for the rackspot reservation, which you can see here.
If you have just made a new order for a dedicated server, it should not be a problem for us to reserve a rackspot in the same area as your dedicated server. For servers that you already have, we will need to first check to see where the nearest available space is. That is why it is very important that you clearly state which existing server you would like to reserve a rack for.
What do I need to keep in mind when I cancel a dedicated server?
If you want to cancel one of your dedicated servers, but you want to keep the rackspot that it is in, you need to make a rackspot reservation. In this situation, please select Rackspot reservation during the cancellation process for that server. We will charge you a monthly fee for reserving the rackspot.
If, when you try to do this, you do not see the option Rackspot Reservation on Robot, then please write us a support request and ask us to check if it is possible to reserve this spot. We will be happy to help you.
Are there any possible limitations?
- Yes, there are. Each rackspot has different specifications depending on the different dedicated server models and their requirements. That is why we cannot make any guarantees that the rackspot you reserve will be compatible with the dedicated server model that you may want to place there now or in the future.
- However, you can always reach out to our Product Advice/Customer Service team and ask them to advise you BEFORE you make your rackspot reservation. They will be happy to help you. - If the rackspot that you would like to reserve is not suitable for your requirements for for the dedicated server model, then it may be possible for us to move your server / your setup to another area where it would work. Please contact us if you would like us to check whether or not this is possible for you.
